چکیده
Abstract Background Bamboos, widely distributed in temperate and tropical Asia, Africa America, refer to a group of special plants Poaceae, Bambusoideae. China is rich bamboo species. However, due long flowering cycle, the habit structure many species are still not well understood. Here, we report new from Guangdong, an analysis its interesting branch development relation flowering. Results This similar G. stellatus , type species, but differs characteristics lemma palea, mid-culm complement, culm-sheath ligules. The initial branches at culm node do apically develop structures during episode; instead, these form on what appears be specialized branches. Conclusions results morphological comparison support recognition Gelidocalamus fengkaiensis as And episode, two types (‘foliage branch’ ‘flowering branch’) can distinguished this

Gelidocalamus xunwuensis W.G.Zhang & G.Y.Yang, a new species collected from Xunwu County of Jiangxi Province in China, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to G. stellatus in the habit, but differs by internodes sparsely hairy with granuliferous warts, culm sheath stiffly hairy, culm sheath blade broadly lanceolate to narrowly triangular, each node with a ring of appressed t...
متن کاملA new species of Rhopalosiphum (Hemiptera, Aphididae) on Chusquea tomentosa (Poaceae, Bambusoideae) from Costa Rica
The new species Rhopalosiphum chusqueae Pérez Hidalgo & Villalobos Muller, is described from apterous viviparous females caught on Chusquea tomentosa in Cerro de la Muerte (Costa Rica). The identity of the species is supported both by the morphological features and by a molecular phylogenetic analysis based on a fragment of the mitochondrial DNA containing the 5' region of the cytochrome c oxid...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity and Differentiation of Dendrocalamus membranaceus (Poaceae: Bambusoideae), a Declining Bamboo Species in Yunnan, China, as Based on Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) Analysis
Dendrocalamus membranaceus Munro is a woody bamboo with a high economic and ecological value that often occurs as natural stands, such as in the large-scale forested areas of China's Yunnan Province. Due to its overexploitation, the habitat of D. membranaceus in Yunnan has been dramatically reduced, and the quality of the stands has declined. As a preliminary analysis in considering the effecti...
متن کاملChusquea yungasensis (Bambusoideae, Poaceae): a new species of woody bamboo from South America and the first record of subgenus Rettbergia in Bolivia
A new species of Chusquea subg. Rettbergia is described, illustrated and compared with C. bambusoides. Chusquea yungasensis sp. nov. differs from other species of subg. Rettbergia by its racemose synflorescences. The new species is endemic to Bolivia, and found only in the Yungas ecoregion. Although this subgenus is exclusive to South America, this new species represents the first record of the...
متن کاملBergbambos and Oldeania, new genera of African bamboos (Poaceae, Bambusoideae)
Two new monotypic genera, Bergbambos and Oldeania are described for African temperate bamboo species in the tribe Arundinarieae, after a comparison of their morphological characteristics with those of similar species from Asia. Morphological differences are supported by their isolated geographical distributions. Molecular evidence does not support the inclusion of these species in related Asian...
